Michael Roy is the best sales manager ever! I have been working with him since 2005 and he has always set me up with his best salesperson and makes sure I get the best deal. This time I had Al Goldberg, who was wonderful--very pleasant, professional and knows his cars. Al was able to answer all of my questions and had one of his colleagues show me how all the new features work on my new car.

Al was amazingly helpful. He contacted me by email, provided detailed specs, pricing and arranged a time for me to test drive the vehicle. As soon as I arrived, he was available and the car was ready. He went into great details explaining everything about the car. Very kind and patient throughout the process as I stayed after closing time by quite a bit and he patiently waited to hand over the keys. He even cleaned a spot that was barely visible, but he is the kind of person that makes you feel like he truly cares and it's not just about making a sale. It was a great experience with all staff really, but Al went above and beyond before, during and even after for some follow up questions.

Al, my salesperson was professional of showing how the Trade Up program works and the benefits of the program for me. Any questions I had he was able to answer them. I never felt rushed or forgotten about while he worked with me and another customer at the same time. Jim was great at explaining the finance process, and the costs/benefits of customizing my options with a new purchase. And Mark was very helpful with customizing my options again the next day after I discovered my insurance no longer offered a particular coverage. I also like that the dealership provides a flash drive instead of the mountain of paperwork as dealerships used to give at time of purchase.

My wife and I were looking for a car, probably the last purchase of our lives as we're "not getting any younger." And we wanted to trade in an American vehicle with which we were disappointed.
We'd started at another dealer who showed us vehicles similar to the Japanese vehicle which was on of our cars. As my wife is disabled, and will require special installations, we asked about them We were treated with what bordered on indifference.
Then we thought we'd check out Herb Gordon as it was another dealer connected with our COSTCO membership. We met with Al Goldberg.
As was courteous, straight forward and, especially, no hard sell. We knew pretty well what we wanted, including options. We went over various options, then chose a model, and went over the details, from color to, again, the options.
For the first time in either of our lives, we got exactly what we wanted. And the vehicle could be delivered in a matter of a few weeks!
When we picked the vehicle up, we chose a 10 year extended service plan that was reasonably priced. Then we debated and chose another plan that applied to lost keys, certain body work, the windshield, etc. Bryan gave us $500 off on that deal, and we could still eliminate it if she chose against it. After a few days of thinking about it, we decided we didn't need that, and in seconds the plan was eliminated.
I'm very happy with the purchase, and look forward to dealing with the dealership for repairs and the like in the future.

I started with the intention of test driving a Subaru, a Honda and a Toyota in the area and then purchasing the car after I consulted with an expert colleague later in the week. I stopped at Subaru first. I was so impressed with Mr. Goldberg's sincere effort to assist me in choosing the right vehicle and not exerting any of the common sales pressures experienced elsewhere, that I ended up buying the car on the same day without test driving cars at other dealers. I have taken the car on a 2000 mile journey to the Midwest already and love everything about it, especially the visibility and ease of driving it compared to my previous Toyota Camry.

When I got back in touch with him later he helped walk us through some of the car's features, etc. by phone and by online links. We arrived at the dealership much better prepared due to my research and his phone time with us. In person he was both professional and personable. My husband's energy level dropped before we left the dealership and Al expressed concern for my husband's well being. He did more than one follow up call to us. I was also grateful Al didn't treat me like a little old lady who must be befuddled by the slightest bit of technology. I purchased my car thru the Costco program. I was sent to another dealership first, where I worked with a relatively new salesperson. Nice fellow. Spent 3 hours with me but they didn't have the car in the color I wanted. The next day, I called the dealer and told him that I found the car at another dealership (Alexandria) and wondered if he could get the car for me at that dealership. The answer I heard was no. I advised Costco that the dealer I was working with didn't have the car and I asked to be recommended to another dealer. Alan Goldberg at Herb Gordon Subaru found the car at another dealership (Baltimore) and called me. He said that he would pick up the car for me the next day if I wanted it. I did want it and bought it the next day. Alan is a very experienced salesperson and it shows. He went the extra step to find the car in

The entire experience surpassed all my expectations. They were short-handed in the finance department, which resulted in a long wait to complete the paperwork, but the salesperson showed a lot of concern for my time and tried to make sure I was comfortable and kept informed as to when they would be ready. When it was taking too long, he took me to the Volvo dealership to complete my purchase. He could not have handled it better. I especially appreciated the ease of the negotiation.
